It's been a week. They started doing balcony repairs in my building, which involves heavy drilling of all the concrete slabs. Before starting the process, they told us to close all our windows and to remove all AC's from the windows. Well, the AC was so heavy (and professionally installed) that I didn't want to take it out. Kingfisher, a reimagined, dark telling of Snow White. She has single-handedly revived my love of reading. Muskoka died yesterday. It all happened so fast. I’m still in shock. I haven’t slept and my eyelids are so puffy from crying. Today is the first day of never going on another morning walk together. I've been playing in my new planner a bit and trying to get a feel for it. I love how compact it is. It's easy to bring with me everywhere. Although simultaneously, I feel a bit cramped in it, writing-wise. I'm forced to write small, and I tend to like a bit more room. My new (again) obsession these past few weeks has been all things Hobonichi, specifically the weeks planner (I got the April start, Japanese edition). I think I've watched every Hobonichi weeks set up/flip-through on YT there is. For weeks, the carbon monoxide detector in the hallway beeped incessantly until I found out it was coming from the couple's apartment next door. I asked her if she could change the battery. She did. Feeling v contemplative this evening. Trying not to let the feelings take over, and recognizing the ebb and flow of creative eras. I bought three records this week. I went back to the hairdresser's to get it cut a bit shorter (bc of course I did), and now I hate it bc this fuckass bob looks so harsh now. A few weeks ago, I met Erica Fustero, a fellow zine maker and artist on Mastodon. We did a zine trade, and it makes my heart so happy to trade art like this. All the way from Mataró! She writes a diary-like zine called Life With Subtitles, which is full of charming and clever illustrations. I really like the square format too.
