This is the first in an irregular column that rewinds the clock back some years to see what was on the taps at certain pubs. Too many of these will no doubt be from my local, The Great Northern Railway Tavern (GNRT), in North London that has been a tremendous pub over the years for…

In spite of all of the guides I’ve published about traversing the length and breadth of Thailand for good street food, I’d never been to Songkhla, a province set like a cap over the three southernmost Thai provinces of Pattani, … Continue reading →
Hi hi people! 🙂 Today we’ve got a very simple Brain-Pick; kind of in the same lane as the last one that Jack-Claude wrote for me about the good things I know about food. What’s your favourite candy? Bibiel’s Answer: I’ve asked you all sorts of similar questions in the past when this series … Continue reading Bibiel’s Brain-Pick: Favourite Candy
I know the coffee drinkers have opinions about Starbucks 😅 but I recently picked up these beans. It’s real bright and bouncy. Acidity is more subdued than I was expecting. It’s become one of my faves recently and wanted to share! The post Sun-Dried Ethiopia Highlands single-origin is my new favorite appeared first on stephen.nyc.

Ina Garten's Panko-Crusted Salmon is a low-effort, high-reward recipe perfect for a solo lunch. Salmon fillets are brushed with Dijon mustard and topped with a lemony panko-parsley crust, then seared in a cast iron skillet and finished in the oven until flaky and golden. Pair with roasted broccolini for a complete meal. The post Ina Garten’s Panko-Crusted Salmon: The Easiest High-Reward Lunch Recipe appeared first on Store-Bought Is Fine.
Spring! Tomorrow is spring!! On a Friday even. How swell. The sort of moment that always reminds me of some lyric or another from Old Blue Eyes himself: Spring is here Why doesn’t my heart go dancing? Spring is here Why isn’t the waltz entrancing? No desire, no ambition leads me Maybe it’s because nobody … Continue reading "The Very Last… Summative Even… Fresh Yet Thoughtful Beery News Notes For Winter 2025-26"

For a bake sale at my daughter’s school, I went with one tried-and-true item, marbled tahini cookies, and also made something new, a more sophisticated variation on Key lime bars. The recipe is from Cook’s Illustrated, apparently from July 2006! The attribution isn’t listed on the America’s Test Kitchen website, though, which is where I found it. Anyhow, as many other bloggers have admitted, I made the crust with graham cracker crumbs, omitting the sugar. Juicing all the fruit, and grating the…
This Pork Green Chili comes straight from the kitchen of Portland's Terlingua restaurant. Wilfred’s Lounge is about to start this year’s Mai Tai Madness tournament and so we’re saluting last year’s champ which we had with dinner a couple days ago. It tastes like a Mai Tai but the amaro … Continue reading "Mai Tai Madness at Wilfred’s Lounge"
My normal coffee shop order is a bit boring– a cortado with regular milk, or basically a baby cappuccino. My fantasy order, however, is a grande mocha topped with a mountain of whipped cream. Alas, I must pick and choose my daily sugar battles, and if there’s gonna be cake at home, I’ll just stick […]
