And just like that July is over. Here’s my seven months of photos, one for each day. As I was a way for some of the month it was quite hard to only pic one image to represent my holiday adventures.

A cinquain is a five-line poem. Line one has one word and is the title. Line two describes the title in two words. Line three uses three words to express action. July weather is unpredictable, from sweltering heatwaves to torrential rain. I take my chances where I can and step outside to enjoy my garden. At the moment my geraniums are glorious – shaded from the worst of the heat by the forsythia above, spreading out across the garden. Today they are shining in the sun. Today’s TDC asked us to use digital erasing to remove a phone from an image. Now, once upon a time this took skilz, but with the new tools in my Android phone it’s far too easy. I took a pic of myself holding my phone and automatically loaded up GIMP to edit it out. But then I remembered the Android ‘magic eraser’ so I used that instead. I will say that it sort of upsets me that it is so easy to do – but it consoles me that it’s not perfect – the corner of the picture it’s filled in doesn’t…

A great TDC today: We’ve all heard of Lynn Truss’s Eats, Shoots and Leaves and are probably familiar with the pictorial representations that accompany it. As Lynn says, commas (and other punctuation marks) do make a difference. Choose your favourite grammatical faux pax and create a visual representation of it.
