Long ago, around the time I started blogging, I had a girlfriend who was an art historian. She often did research at The Netherlands Interuniversity Institute for Art History (NIKI) in Florence, Italy, and I visited her there a few times. They allowed guests to stay at the institute, which was (and still is) at walking distance from downtown Florence. According to her LinkedIn profile, she is doing well, I suppose.
