Sara and Nora are on a trip now to Iceland, London and Paris. A few picture of this are here, along with some classics (standards?). Airport drop-off. A lot has happened in early July: we attended the Savanah Bananas baseball entertainment event, went to the Prefontaine Classic Track Meet, volunteered at the Butte-To-Butte run and saw an impressive drone show following the first night of the track meet. The Savanah Bananas were, to my mind, meant to be akin to the Harlem Globetrotters basketball, but with baseball as the sport. June winds down. In this case I talk about being injured, unfortunately. But it happens. I also talk about attending the NCAA National Championship Track & Field Meet at Historic Hayward Field, which also happens. There are “album listening sessions,” which is pretty cool. I have this image of a darkened room, pot smoke hanging in the air, plush cushions around and people with long hair and beards sitting around listening to an album, A side and then B side. Reminds me of the ’70s perhaps? And . . . once again, Review Week, where the print shop prints so many posters for pin-ups around the College of Design. The student employees that I have and work with are just *so good.* It is the color to the day…

The impetus for this trip was because of an off-handed comment I made to my friend Kurt. I said that I’d sure like to see Paul Simon someday, but that I knew he was getting older, too. I figured that it likely would not happen. Well, Kurt offered to take me to see him. In Copenhagen, Denmark. I just had to get there. So I went. This is the final post of the trip. Heading further south from Stockholm, on our way to Malmo, we stopped on Oland Island. On the north end of the island is a national park and the southern end is a United Nations World Heritage Site. We headed south and enjoyed the beauty of the place. A short hike took us through fields of these beautiful purple flowers. On our way to the end of the island, we came across a group of deer. Sara and I spent the day in Portland celebration our 20th anniversary! We went up to the Portland Japanese Gardens and then went to the Portland Fire WNBA game against the New York Liberty. Most of the photos were taken either after dark or before sunrise because during the first day of being in Stockholm my sleep was a bit messed up. I am resurfacing after a whirlwind trip to Sweden and Denmark, finally. I left on April 11th and returned on the 19th to meet my friend Kurt to travel from Stockholm, south to Oland Island and onto Malmo. We’ve had some things going on around here lately: Jonah dislocated both knee caps, Pinecone and Acorn are aging and it is noticeable, and a plethora of combination locks! Our device that we use to take payment for the posters we print died during Review Week, which made for some interesting days. And March Madness is *a thing* in our house. Hence the screen time set up. Brackets were filled out, and many buzzer beaters were witnessed. Fun was / is being had! The underbelly of the beast. Screens, screens and more screens. Plus guinea pigs and a couple of toes.
