  1. August is when and why I'm relearning Math

    The start of August has been like a complex math problem for me. It's one of those stretches where a hole opens up in your chest and it feels like it has no bottom. So you spend the whole time trying to fill it with meaning and purpose. The question is always the same. Am I doing everything I can for my family? And can I keep doing it without burning out? I know that edge well. I've stood close to it plenty of times and I've never gone over. But I've noticed something about the way I stop. I…

  2. Step 3 of installing MCPs into my brain

    My mind’s eye has definitely been upgrading lately 🧠. Mental images are starting to look way more vivid; I can even rotate an object in 3D and check it out from every angle like it's actually floating right in front of me. Granted, it takes a ton of focus; but it’s working. Even my memory is starting to sharpen up a bit (nothing drastic yet, but progress is progress 📈). The real magic tho isn't just in storing memories; it’s retrieving answers... That shift in perspective is what led me to…

  3. Step 2 of installing MCPs into my brain

    Nothing has changed yet. 🌀 🚪 All I've been doing so far is mentally going in from our front door into our bedroom then back out. My wife, however, just looked at the more than 6-digit room code once from a game that we've been playing called "Plants on Fire" 🔥 and typed it back without missing a beat. It's genuinely fun, and plants do really belong in tower defense lol Memory has never been my strongest suit 🧠, hence my obsession with note-taking and second brains, and, by extension, AI. 🤖 But…

  4. Step 1 of installing MCPs into my brain

    I'm stuck in my own AI bubble; almost everyone in my field is. We all have our own unique stack of tools, setups, and settings; we all have model preferences, with me leaning more towards open-weight models. Even my mom has her preferences, but more on AI shows rather than dev tool stack. I promised myself to only use AI to solve the problems that I encounter and not use AI as the solution to the problem. So far that's what I've been doing: building trackers, tools, browser extensions... But…

  5. I just got my impacted wisdom tooth removed

    So yeah, that's where I'm at. It's Day 3 of recovery. I'm on a soft-food diet, my jaw is still tender, and I'm typing this while nursing a cup of iced coffee. Feels like a good time to catch up. I've been mostly offline on this blog since April. Not because I vanished — I just fell into a rabbit hole. It started with a simple itch: I wanted a better way to log my days. I was using Obsidian and Google Keep — solid tools, but they never felt like mine. I wanted something that felt like a chat,…

  6. Progressive loop;

    I've been stuck in a progressive loop lately, and it's not healthy. Late night build sessions and 5-to-6 hour sleep is probably taking a toll on my health. What's the point of feeling smart if you can't let that level of intelligence leak through other life domains? So yes, we're focusing on the boring stuff again, like sleep and nutrition. But mostly sleep.
