😷 Walking around with a mask on has just reminded me of the Covid days. The last half decade has shown a small glimpse of how we as humans have impacted the world we live in, on a daily basis. The impact is also not limited to rich and poor countries and people, it impacts everyone, everywhere.

My heart has now been broken twice in looking for a house. We put an offer on one which wasn’t accepted and then the other we missed by a day maybe? Regardless this search is just exhausting us at the moment.

Small break in Niagara on the lake. First time going to this part of the country. Very pretty, but as I worked out very early on in my life here in Canada, vacations are an expensive hobby.

I wonder if I would appreciate summer as much as I do now, if winter wasn’t as brutal as it is? That yearly anticipation makes the joys I can experience now feel more pronounced.

Took a wonderful drive through wine country this evening on an errand. Was properly annoyed to have to do it, but the views totally made up for it. Sun was setting an fun music was playing in the background.
Taking a week off from work to go and visit a bit of Ontario with the family and just reset the tempo of my body a little. We’re off to Niagara for the first time. It’s been a mentally exhausting 6 months. We have a pretty busy summer ahead of us, so maybe this week is the calm before the storm, ahead of our eventual move, again. While the house is ‘fine’ the school hasn’t really connected with the boys at all. Summer has officially begun and I have a ton of books that I finally want to either…

☀️ Happy Summer Solstice everyone. As a Humanist I feel like celebrating specific scientific world events. Also I kinda like the fact that the first day of summer is ‘linked’ to Father’s Day and Mother’s Day is linked to the first day of spring. The next one is the Autumn solstice.
Costco is like taking the trash out but in reverse. You hate to do it, but it feels satisfying once done.
It’s been a rough few weeks. I expect things to settle down a little bit over the next few weeks but next week cannot come soon enough as we are off for a couple of days to unwind a little. Mental break is definitely in order.

🏀 Ok it’s been a long time since I watched the NBA, but even in the 90s it wasn’t this physical was it? Just feels a little more slappy.
