Today was a very nice and sunny day – also very hot, though. Maybe a little too hot. Around 36 degrees Celsius. But I decided to go for a walk anyway. Since I’ve been reading news articles of people finding things like WW2 shipwrecks and mammoth bones in the Danube river due to the water level being very low, I decided to head out and check for myself how the water level is looking from the city of Ruse, Bulgaria, near the bridge to Romania. As you can see in the picture above, the water level…

A colorful butterfly, made entirely in Krita! Unfortunately, there isn’t much more to say about this image, it’s just one of those drawings you make ‘randomly’, just trying to make something good-looking. :)
I’ve been wanting to create a more ‘painterly’ art style for some of my Blender projects for a while now, and I’m happy to have achieved something to my liking so far! Today I am happy to show you this bear – which I actually created a loooong time ago! This is how the bear looked initially. Then I made a couple of changes and experimented with shading and lineart, all within Blender. I think a more cartoon-like and painterly coloring style matches well with the style of my 2D artworks, too. So…
Cat head in a slice of bread! Not the most original idea, but it is a cute idea nonetheless! Today’s drawing is this slice of bread with the head of a cute cat stuck inside of it. And a tiny bow to finish it off! Made entirely in Krita. ^_^

Perhaps a strange concept, but this chicky is indeed sitting on a large, fluffy pink cloud in space! The chicky proudly displays a star that it caught. Surely that’s going to grant all its wishes! Made in Blender 4.3. Getting the ‘Bloom’ setting to work was a bit of a pain in the butt, since the simple ‘turn it on or off’ setting was removed. <_< But I think it turned out quite cute regardless!Scene in Blender: Thanks for having a look!
I’m trying to get a cute little cat model to live in Blender, and it’s been a while since I last rigged a character, so I ran into this issue and I decided I might as well share this simple solution. :) Basically, I added bones to the character but then I realized I can’t pose the model. Well, that’s because I forgot a one small step… Solution! If your bones move but your 3D model stays still, it’s because the rig and the mesh are not connected. Here’s how to fix it: Go into Object Mode…

It took me a few days to finish it – with most time spent making a simple strawberry xD – but here it is! A cute strawberry cake slice, made entirely in Blender. I added a background in GIMP, as I usually do. Not having used Blender for a couple of months, it took me a bit of time to make a simple strawberry. More specifically, I was looking for an ideal ‘shortcut’ to add the seeds. I tried the particle system (hair emitter) but it didn’t work out as it should… then the next day I was either…
It’s been a while since I posted some art! So I thought it would be a good time to start (its a rhyme!) x3 So I made this image in Blender of a colorful stained glass silhouette of a cat! Here’s the rendered version next to the mesh in object mode: Thank you for looking!
14 to 16 May was Weekend Tourism 2026 in Ruse, with lots of stalls with handmade/locally made products, a live band, other festivities as well as this hot all balloon! I also went to check out Weekend Tourism last year – but I was too early and didn’t get to see the hot air balloon, which is actually what I came for, hehe. This year, I had a better idea of when the hot air balloon would be shown, because I actually found it mentioned online. :D From 6:30 to 8pm. So I got there around 7 and they…
These photos are from about a week ago. I didn’t have time to upload a new blog post until now, unfortunately. But here it is! A… cave? Honestly, I had no idea what I stumbled upon when I went out for a walk on that beautiful sunny day. These photos were taken in Mladeži Park – or ‘Youth Park’. Supposedly, this cave is an artificial grotto / decorative cave built into the park landscaping during the socialist-era redesigns of the park in the 1950s–70s. There were also a lot of rock structures,…
In the morning, the sun shines brightly onto our patio. When I wake up, I open the windows so that Tommy and Ricky can enjoy the outdoor sounds, smells and slight breeze. Ricky has a comfy hammock on one of the windows, Tommy likes to lie down on the floor and snooze there until the afternoon. The sun then moves toward the other side of our apartment. In the living room, some sun can be caught by the cats, but unfortunately, it’s not a lot… The sun is obstructed by a concrete balcony and of…
View of a Bulgarian neighborhood from a park. We had some planned maintenance today, so we went out for a walk in quite lovely weather and also picked up a new external keyboard for me, since the keys of my Lenovo laptop (purchased in 2023) are failing and it seems to be hardware failure. I can no longer use the Q, W, E and R keys on that keyboard and you’d be surprised how many times you need especially the E and R key to type! Also picked up a cheap mouse to replace my current mouse when that…
April started with pretty nice weather and a reasonable temperature. I finally took off my thick hoodie that kept me warm through the winter months. It’s our 3rd year in Ruse, and in the previous years the weather was much more pleasant in April. They’re even warning about a cold front and frost coming our way! Regardless, I’m still holding out wearing just a T-shirt – I’m not really cold. If I look at the weather forecast on Google, it looks like temperatures will go up a bit soon. And maybe…
