While this is not as memorable, it does a great job of blending the real world and the cartoon world and bringing together a lot of gags in order to make this funny. In 2006, a group of thieves performed what is considered one of the most famous and smart bank heists in the history of Argentina when they rob the Banco Río branch in Acassuso. Good crime comedy, feeling like a Latin-American Ocean’s Eleven. It entertains properly and it will keep you glued to the screen for a bit over an hour and a half. Jake Pentecost, son of Stacker Pentecost, reunites with Mako Mori to lead a new generation of Jaeger pilots, including rival Lambert and 15-year-old hacker Amara, against a new Kaiju threat. It’s badly written, but at least it’s got cool robots and kaijus and that’s it. A major letdown in comparison to its predecessor, but it’s still a decent watch. Three popcorns, and all of them because of the robots.

As a war between humankind and monstrous sea creatures wages on, a former pilot and a trainee are paired up to drive a seemingly obsolete special weapon in a desperate effort to save the world from the apocalypse. It’s got huge robots, it’s got kaiju, this is basically big budget Power Rangers with decent writing and bad ass effects. I do see this every few years, and it’s still one of my favourites.
