When I created my first sketchbook post, I was under the impression that I would have way more time for throwback content. As it turns out, I am constantly making things, and it is hard enough to keep up with sharing what I've made in the very recent past. So for this post, I am going to try something different. I am going to let this be an evolving log of a sketchbook in-progress. SeptemberI started this sketchbook knowing that I wanted to try a lay-flat design. I used a glue binding, which involves folding all of the pages and gluing them back-to-back. It's a little tedious and didn't come out as neatly as I would have hoped, but it was worth it to avoid a sewn seam down the center.My first painting in the new sketchbook is based on my memory of a piece of art that I almost-saw. I was in a restaurant with panes of plastic between the booths, and I could see an art piece hanging on the wall through the semi-transparent window.
