This morning I took this walk down the riverwalk area. I felt vaguely troubled by a myriad of little things. Pieces of life that submerge in Siem Reap but seem to wander up to the surface here. I’ve felt this affinity and affection for something of life here.So I walked on. I guess deliberation slowing my steps. Somehow the city and the beautiful clear morning and Bokor Mountains vied for my eyes. What I realized is somehow life back in Siem Reap has become something not truly enjoyed. Not hated or despised. But there is something missing. Some basic element that takes me down and holds me there when I just spend days. When there I would suffer to explain it. It would not rise to the surface. It would be dormant. So what the fuck is it I wonder.I puzzled it this morning and the old bridge disappeared behind me. Kampot has this quieter beauty and feeling to it. Then I got to see some of what bothers me. It’s the going itself. The travel and seeing something I’ve been to before. This…
