Recently the Phillies have been fun to watch again. They are suddenly hitting and being patient rather than either swinging at junk pitches way out of the zone or watching strike 3 right down the middle. Their defense has been better too. Today they went most of the game without hitting and were down by 4 with 2 outs in the 9th inning. I was just hoping they would score one so it’s not a shutout. Instead, they kept getting hits with 2 outs and 2 strikes and eventually tied it. Schwarber came up and walked it off with a home run. That game went from being frustrating to exciting in a few at-bats. I have never been to a walk-off win at a Phillies game. I have been hoping to see one at some point. Obviously a stress-free blowout would be better. We don’t get to too many games because of timing and distance, but we appreciate it when we can go. Back when I went to a few games in the 1990s with my dad or his sister when his car broke down, the only walk-offs that were happening were us…
