Stuff This Week #99

The promised bad weather didn’t really materialise outside of a couple of hours of rain and we’re back to sunny days again for now. Another week that has flown past without much rest. 🎓 My youngest got his GCSE results this week. Passes all round (Apart from French, but we sorta expected that one). A mixture of 5’s to 7’s. He will be moving on to do his A-Levels now. He even got a quote and a photo in our local paper! 😂 👏👏👏 🏥 A really, really busy strained work week. We had some network hardware partially fail that took down a (non resilient due to cost) service that we then had to re-route physically to get up again. The failure also reduced the resilience on a bunch of other services and we then had to formulate the plan and get all the approvals to swap the parts out. As you can imagine in a healthcare environment this is an incredibly bureaucratic procedure to get through approval whilst trying to remind them if the partial failure turns to a full failure at an unplanned time,…
