You see lots of funny memes joking about it. Not only the 'obvious' stuff like forgetting to do something or losing things around the house/workplace, but also on things like 'oh my god I got so much to do and yet I can't get up helpppp'. Which is also played up for laughs bc that's the internet for you, this is how we deal with trauma around here. The problem with this is, beyond the (grossly erroneous) 'everybody is a little ADHD these days' argument, it makes ADHD sound like it's a quirk rather than a debilitating disorder. Something that is an actual disability. I haven't been able to work for almost this entire year of 2026, and a huge portion of that is due to ADHD. The other, apparently, is perimenopause (brought even earlier on because — plot fucking twist — women with ADHD can experience symptoms in their 30s and much stronger than women without it).
