However, there’s a social-affordance component that I think is being missed.If you put cameras or other recording devices in places where people don’t expect them, you’re essentially creating a surveillance device, regardless of how it’s marketed. With people already on edge about privacy and surveillance, that social context matters.That’s especially important because the only way out of this uncanny valley is to provide enough value to overcome the discomfort. I’m not convinced that simply making it easier to snap a photo of something like a book or album cover for later is enough. That could probably be automated directly: detect those kinds of photos and automatically process them with on-device AI.I’m surprised we’re not seeing more experimentation with something like this in CarPlay Ultra.One of the biggest disconnects… No comments yet.
