It’s been exactly three years since I published my article about the Sony PS Vita so what better thing to do is than pick it out from the drawer where it’s been sitting for a while, play some games on it, see how relevant and usable it’s still in 2026. Half-joking, I did pick up this like a few weeks ago and played with it a few hours. I didn’t test the PS3 Remote Play functionality of it mostly because I’m too lazy to fire up my PS3, which is currently sitting nicely in its box, but it should work out of the box, I remember I used it like 7-8 years ago, when I got this Vita in the first place. Transferring files to and from the Vita is super easy, even with a very modern computer, as QCMA is available for all operating systems, and version 0.4.1-1 works on MacOS Sequoia very well to transfer photos, although it throws occasional errors when trying to transfer photos, music and videos.
