My bookmarking tool

The most important online tool I use is a bookmarking service. I’ve been collecting more than 41,000 bookmarks over the course of 17 years. And these are only the ones that survived numerous relocations, exports and imports. My bookmarks are an archive of what I read, watched and listened to. They document topics that preoccupied me and that were discussed in the spaces I frequented. So these bookmarks represent an invaluable personal life journal. I started collecting bookmarks in the Opera 6 browser, then switched to the “Web 2.0” legend del.icio.us. After the development of del.icio.us stalled and lost direction, I moved my bookmarks to Diigo. Diigo For many years, I was quite happy with Diigo, but there were several issues: Diigo had many features that I did not use but got in my way all the time.
