Whoever directed this game had a lot of sand in his underpants, otherwise I don’t understand the amount of clunk in this game. I knew that the story from AC: Valhalla was okay, it was interesting enough to keep you pushing on. This is not the case. We go back in time from Valhalla and discover the story of Basim. His life challenges, the long and arduous path of becoming an Assassin. Except you don’t. Everything important is done over 2 missions and a couple of montages and that’s it. You’re now a fully-fledged assassin. In comparison with Valhalla, this is just worse. The writing is boring and doesn’t make you actually root for the assasins, Basim or anyone in and around Bagdad. The mechanics are absolutely atrocious. Combat is clunky, movement is clunky, you want to jump over, it jumps down, you want to run over some planks, it jumps between them and so on. The nameplates are confusing and don’t offer too much information about the enemy that you’re fighting and the assassination…
