Another city on a rock – that‘s common thing in this region. The rock had a lot of tunnels underneath, most of them were dug by the Etruscan some 2.500 years ago. People later expanded these tunnels to be comfortable from the cold in winter as well as from the heat in summer. At some point they had to limit tunnels to avoid a collapse of buildings atop. History is so interesting!
