After 2 years of pondering to get new skates, I finally got urban skating roller-skates! Not that I could not buy them. My old skates are still in good shape. However, they were meant as temporary. Rightfully so. A test run. As usual, I took my time to decide on an upgrade. After my last pregnancy, my feet gained half a size — a common occurrence — meaning my skates were very tight around my toes. Not ideal, as I suffer from ‘Morton Neuroma’ on my right foot, which can have a painful reappearance with wrong shoes. Because of this, my skating sessions were short and few. Due to this, the new skates are blissful. Summer thus fat has been dry enough to skate again. My goal, participating in ‘Rollerdam’ — one of the biggest Urban Skating events in Europe. No one I know skate; my skating sessions akin to meditation — like runners.
