June winds down. Quick trip to Seattle to help my brother, a visit to one of my old employers, a lovely visit with my stepmom and her husband, World Cup fans, etc. On a quick trip to Seattle to help my brother with another eye surgery, I stopped at the Pike Place Market. There were many World Cup fans. My first trip was on a school field trip when I was 14 years old. A memory I had while on this trip was that an elderly woman came up to me and asked if my money was dirty. I was 14, and I had no clue what she was talking about. The market then was as interesting a place as it is now though. The “Center of the Universe” is Fremont, in Seattle. It’s a funky little neighborhood where I lived after college in a two bedroom apartment with my college roommate and good friend Brian for only $400.00 per month. I think I made $7.25 per hour when I got hired to work at Dusty Strings. What a great place to be employed, though. Of course I was flooded with memories when I walked in and looked…
