This piece by Markham Heid reached Hacker News, so it reached me. I gave it a go since is a topic that I have already thought of several times. I listen to music. Used to do it even more, a freaking lot, like most of the day, both awake and asleep. That includes having headphones with me while walking, on the bus, train, etc. Even when I was at school I always had my headphones hanging from the neck of my shirt. Btw it was only after buying my current eadburds that I stopped using headphones, and trust me I tried with USB-C to 3.5mm Jack adapters, but they always broke or sounded crappy. Anyways, I used to be a power user. I still use them, when I go to the office I usually listen to some music (I prefer that over scrolling, and I deleted all my social media). Sometimes I wear them but don't listen to anything at all, just to have a calmer RSS reading experience. But I must say, I try to be aware of my surroundings.
