In this case I talk about being injured, unfortunately. But it happens. I also talk about attending the NCAA National Championship Track & Field Meet at Historic Hayward Field, which also happens. Both are enlightening. Running early Tuesday morning with the Big Timber Running Club that I am a part of I rolled my ankle. I felt the “click,” felt the pain and might have even heard the “click.” We were out on the trails at Mt. Pisgah and I was not watching where to place my feet when it happened. Turns out I have a fractured lateral malleolus (for those curious). Basically I fractured the bone that is the outer bone of the ankle. Yes, it hurts. Tomorrow I go to the local orthopedic place to find out what is next, which hopefully is a boot, rest, ice, elevation, and physical therapy. Running is out for the summer and possibly biking too.
