The fan favorite champions – now joined by Johnny Cage himself – are pitted against one another in the ultimate battle to defeat the dark rule of Shao Kahn that threatens the very existence of the Earthrealm and its defenders. First of all, I love all the MK movies. They’re over the top, raunchy, gorey and they are pure fun. Good movies? Not really. Fun to watch? Absolutely! Karl Urban does a great job at playing Johnny Cage, and the only one that could have fit the role better was maybe Jean Claude Van Damme, for extra meta points. It’s showtime! Speaking of cameos, loved to see Ed Boon appear as bartender Ed. Speaking about the movie, it takes no prisoners and it jumps right in. The fight scenes are well made and they start right away. Not a lot of backstory or talking, but a lot of good fighting scenes, literal eye candy for the fans of the genre.
