Heading further south from Stockholm, on our way to Malmo, we stopped on Oland Island. On the north end of the island is a national park and the southern end is a United Nations World Heritage Site. We headed south and enjoyed the beauty of the place. A short hike took us through fields of these beautiful purple flowers. On our way to the end of the island, we came across a group of deer. Reindeer? Not sure, but they were out and about. The fields and stone walls and churches were beautiful. The lighthouse at the end of the island, known as “Big John.” There was a lovely little bakery, cafe and a museum. I found the museum exhibits to be unique and lovely. The museum’s focus was on the bird life of the island. The town where we stopped for lunch, Karlskrona, on our way to Malmo. Our hike around the town took us on a trail near the bay where we found these fellas. In Malmo, back to the land of many bikes! More bikes agains the backdrop of a church.
