The Need for Speed Challenge > a half-assed review -- Need for Speed: Underground 2 (2003)

By the time Need for Speed: Underground 2 hit the piracy scene, I was already in my first year of University, being busy with whatever students do: Warcraft III, movies and drinking. Sometimes all three at the same time. So it was easy to understand why I didn’t play at all this title. I knew of the game, I had colleagues in my dorm room playing it, but I never started the career. From the little bit I’ve known about it, the graphics are a bit better, the soundtrack is superlative, the city looks just like the other one, but this time, it has OPEN WORLD EXPLORATION! It’s also got some open world head-to-head races, some really nice comics-style interlude movies and the whole game just feels like they took the previous Underground game, and the project specification said: “like this, but better”. This new game brings a ton of new cars, more customizations (even a dyno!), and since I’ve got no better game to play at the moment, I think it’s time to try to start and play it! The overall…
