The Need for Speed Challenge > a half-assed review -- Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 (2002)

Moving on to the next NFS game, but also to the next computer, I will be using for the following games my 15.4" Sony Vaio that I used in the OCC 2024 I mentioned before, as this is practically my go-to retro computing laptop. It’s got a pretty fast CPU at 1.7GHz, a dedicated graphics card (an Nvidia GeForce 2), and I’ve upgraded the RAM to 2GB, which can load pretty much any game of the late 90s and early 2000s. Unfortunately, the sound issue that I was mentioning during the OCC is done, so I will have to connect some external speaker to this, as it’s got no sound anymore. But you know what it’s got? Games! And to start, we’ll play some Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2, which is a really beautiful game. First thing it hits my nostalgia button is the music. I’ve played this game a lot and I’ve listened to the soundtrack even longer. It’s filled with rock and hip-hop bangers, songs that I know by heart even now after 24 years.
