i know it’s not my responsibility to pull my brother out of poverty, but god damn.. shouldn’t i at least try to give him the tools we weren’t taught as children america makes poverty feel like a personal and moral failure, when it’s literally built into our institutions; it’s by design. the “american dream” wasn’t meant for “white trash,” but they sure did a great job convincing us it was. reply to this post.
