  1. No Sloptober

Abstain from LLMs for a month challenge? I just stumbled on the No Sloptober page and it sounds like a fun idea to try. I'm not sure I will, though. While some projects I work on require me to use AI for coding or process (WoW) related activities, most of my day to day things are technically also feasible without any help from the bots. Think of this as a fast for your mind! This is not a judgement of others, but a personal challenge to you. At this point, I have been a software developer for…

  2. Webmentions: the nice things we have

The tech is there for us, if we want it You know it's obligatory for one to rewrite their blog from scratch every couple of years (months?). It's possible I may have found a solution for this because this blog has been up since 2022 and while I've been curious about other tools, I never found sufficient reason to replace it. The winning tech seems to be the Wagtail CMS which is an opinionated configuration of Django. I never really spent too much time writing code for it (apart from a couple of…

  3. Goatmire, the final countdown

NervesConf is coming up and I'm very excited On the wind-whipped, rain-beaten shores of Sweden's west coast we took a stand. As the respite of summer fades back into the wet, cold misery and on into the snow-forlorn winter of this miserable coast we saw a moment. The summer crowds scattered. The sun not quite gone yet. And we seized it. -- Unnamed Goatmire organiser At long last, the time has come to start packing for my trip to Varberg, Sweden. I'm going to Goatmire aka NervesConf EU! This is…

  5. Meet Inlay, a Gleam library to embed common urls on your website

Inlay is a library which renders embedded previews for content links (Mastodon, Pixelfed, Apple Music, Bluesky, Spotify, etc..) on your Lustre page I'm very happy to announce a new library I've been working on in the last couple of days - Inlay. The Gleam Way I've been actively looking for opportunities to integrate more Gleam into my work and the recent 11ty news have provided an excellent excuse to rewrite all my static websites using Lustre. In case you don't know, Lustre is a web framewor...

  6. Weeknotes #1-2026

Introducing week notes, work on Flowvi.be and the road ahead It's been a while since my last post. I think form now on, I will be focusing more on short notes highlighting interesting happenings and progress on my side projects. I'm tentatively calling it a Weeknote but we will see if this is sustainable 🙂. The last two weeks were focused on getting Flowvi.be 1.7.2 ready for release. I'm very happy with the work so far - refactoring of the Mood Engine into a more flexible and portable solutio...
