roasted vegetables are so flavourful and great I love to make them but in the summer we don't want to have the oven on for an hour or two. it's pretty cold here today so I'm roasting some stuff up for two different dishes: roasted tomato soup and roasted fennel salad. cooking is definitely a special interest for me so I like to take advantage of these kinds of opportunities

I'm still at my plan for not scrolling from last time and I'm feeling less stress. I'm starting to get going with books and get a sense of how much commitment and context different kinds of books need (short stories need a lot with their new context every time, nonfiction can be really low-context) less stress is good. less stress will help me get through the day. last time

I'm trying to stop using infinite-scrolling apps as a ready-made stream of distraction. goodbye bluesky, goodbye reddit, goodbye facebook and instagram. (I mean it's been a while for the latter two, but still) just taking them off of the home screen of my phone has helped a lot, it's easy to think twice when you've just tapped on the empty space where the reddit icon used to be. but my nervous system craves the ready drip drip drip of irrelevant knowledge. we'll see
