Really fun and more emotional than I expected. Ace cast.

Genuinely unsettling. This thing has been out for weeks and my local theater was almost full. I didn't know the director was a former YouTuber before I saw the movie, or that he was so young. I can clock some of that inexperience in retrospect, but overall it's a confident, stylish, and creepy debut. Also, according to the box office, everyone has already seen this, so y'all know what I mean.

Heading home from Comedy Bang Bang live, and man what a great show. First time I got to see Eddie Patterson and Ego Nwodim live, and they were awesome.

Tim Robinson’s The Chair Company is somehow grounded and blast off bonkers from the jump. I’ve seen three episodes and I know less about the plot then we u started.

Ghost train is best train.

I was a nervous wreck, but I got to meet Jimmy Pardo after his hilarious set at the Bell House just now, and got to thank him for his show helping me through hard times. He was incredibly gracious despite my blathering.

Finished reading: One for the Money by Janet Evanovich 📚 I enjoyed this. I don’t know what I was expecting, but this surprised me with how dirty it was, in that American way where it’s obsessed with sex and also a bit prudish and scared (oh the deviants!). I can’t hate a New Jersey mystery, even if it doesn’t much resemble anything I’ve known in the state. Fun to read after the excellent Murder on Sex Island.

Started reading: One for the Money by Janet Evanovich 📚

Impressive visuals for the time, and slow paced. The opening segment is all still images with text boxes. The conclusion draws some I think for the time progressive parallels between witchcraft persecution and the then modern treatment of women, but it sounds ignorant from now modern knowledge. Interesting from a history of film perspective, and there’s some great shots of nuns sticking out their tongues.

I found a little command line program, ftb, to align markdown tables. Very useful. I use it as a Neovim filter, as I recently blogged about. 💽

Listening to a 1970 Love bootleg at the Fillmore West, that Paul of Albums That Should Exist cleaned up. It’s the seventies, so Arthur Lee is heavier, more Hendrix influenced than the insurmountable “Forever Changes”. The show is pretty great. 🎵
