Today was really fun. The conversation at Front End Study Hall was rich. We discussed email, including a library I’ve yet to try called MJML which allows creating a unified file which compiles into html code which renders consistently in the many different mail programs. We drove to Orange County yesterday. Kelly went to work, and I stole away to the beach at Huntington. I enjoy the scene at Huntington Beach, and I’ve been treated well by the folks in the water each time. Class Action Park is a great documentary about a New Jersey waterpark where people died. Even just the trailer is amazing. Seek out the documentary and watch it. Chris Gethard is one of the folks interviewed for the documentary. He wrote for “Weird New Jersey” I think Gethard is great. He’s responsible for a piece of television which I find amazing. Yesterday I went to the beach. Water is always in motion. I have many opinions and intuitions about the motion of water. I go to the beach when I am likely to be able to ride waves. I make myself aware of time and tide, wind and the size and shape of water. James mentioned to me yesterday that he had seen the painting Surf, from 1937, and shared it with me. I wore my “Q” cosplay. We drove to the former movie-theater where Gwen boards during Comic-Con. After all, these are long days away from home, and so Gwen gets a vacation, too. Even mediocre conditions can make great sessionsI saw a surfer in the water smiling big. Conditions were middling. Closeouts. Pretty choppy.
