I am on the way home from a hiking trip in the northern Flinders ranges. Through Operation Flinders at yankanina station. The instructors my group had were awesome if a little strict, but they did a good thing at leaving responsibilities to the trainees. Setting up and packing up camps, navigating, which high ground to stay on. Funnilly enough, on the second last day we were told that our instructors were the daughter and son-in-law of the founder of the organisation that bought us out there. To sum up all my journaling I have done while there. Ive learnt how to push through hard things 'one step at a time' which is coincidentally the slogan of the foundation. And also that I can aim for the stars. The main team leader told us all one night around the campfire "if you want to fly with eagles, dont hang around turkeys." Which I feel is less about not hanging around with people that dont have the same goals as you. But still selectively choosing those you surpund yourself with. Perhaps…
