What time is it? Time to continue my look at the new-to-me movies I saw back in August 2025 as part of TCM’s Summer Under the Stars event. In today’s post, I’m taking a look at Days 5 and 6, and I’m kicking things off with one of my favorite character actors! Day 5: Claude Rains – Passage to Marseille (1944) Although this feature reunited four of the stars of Casablanca (1941), I’d never been interested in seeing it – probably because I have a strong tendency to steer clear of wartime movies. But this film showed me that I need to get over that tendency! (Full disclosure: Passage to Marseille was actually my third choice for Claude Rains Day – I first tried to watch Caesar and Cleopatra (1945), but I couldn’t get into it, and then I tried Stolen Holiday (1937), but it didn’t grab me either.
