I just finished reading Golden Son by Pierce Brown. It's the second in a series, so there is plenty more to look forward to, but right now I feel completely adrift by its completion. Maybe it's the monstrous cliffhanger that the book ends on, or the fact that I have barely been able to put it down for the past week. It consumed my attention and my imagination for seven days, and I adored every second I spent with Darrow. I simply do not know what to do with myself now that the book is finished. To misquote David Mitchell: "A read book is a finished love affair." The cure is of course, to read the next book in the series. As of right now, I do not own Morning Star, and I'm struggling against a promise I made myself last year to not buy any more books before I finish some more of my worryingly tall to-read pile. I don't owe my past self anything, of course. I am a dedicated practioner of the noble art of 積読1, and what's one more book? 💬 I don't have comments on my blog, but you can…
