when someone upvotes my post, it feels like a friendly smile by a stranger

i feel the sense of community here on bearblog. i was thinking of why that is, and one of the reasons is that sometimes, people upvote my posts. it is not really an interaction in the traditional sense, instead, it feels like a friendly presence of a stranger. i know nothing about them, but i know that they feel something that makes them upvote a post - that might be agreement, or maybe they like my page design, or maybe they are just thinking "why not". what i am getting from it, though, is a friendly vibe - a stranger is friendly to me! it feels nice. i upvote all the posts that i read to the end for the same reason - it's fun to be a friendly presence. like a lil friendly ghost almost.
