It started with coming home to find a door hanger on my door. It’s a message from GFiber proclaiming that they’ve fixed my problem and I should be back up right now. I posted this to the neighborhood group and found that people were finding these everywhere, including in their mailboxes. None of these people have GFiber because it’s not here. The access boxes yes, the access no. The flyers in mailboxes thing is simply a federal crime punishable by fines of up to $10,000 per occurrence and didn’t happen to me. However as I’m not a customer of GFiber’s, nor do they currently service my address nor any of the addresses they put these on, it constitutes a solicitation for an upcoming service and qualifies under Nashville’s do-not-knock registry, which I am on. So up to $10,250 in fines per household aside I had the opportunity to wander the neighborhood on a post-dinner stroll with my wife recently and noticed that they didn’t just install a few access boxes on the street, they installed…
