I’ve written a couple of times about the scams that have been coming through Meta’s Business Partner Platform, but now the scams are piling up with two coming in the past hour and I have no idea how many this week. Scammers have found they can just create an account and send a business partnering invite through Meta and it comes right into your inbox. As you’re probably not running a business page in Facebook, chances are you’ve never seen it but Pocketables is. There are no options to disable business partnership emails so they keep coming. I’ve got a rule that anything that’s coming in with the “is not part of or affiliated with Meta.” string gets dumped into a FB spam folder now. There are no options in the business pages that I see to deny this spam, and there are no options other than going to the offender’s usually-innocuous looking page and reporting them. The good spammers are evidently changing their names afterward and removing Meta logos as I’ve been getting back reports…
