The Australian Political Studies Association has created a new prize in political theory and philosophy in memory of Peter Balint, a political theorist at the University of New South Wales, Canberra, who died in January, 2025. Professor Balint’s research concerned toleration, diversity, multiculturalism, and social cohesion. His books include Debating Multiculturalism: Should There be Minority Rights? (with Patti Tamara Lenard, Oxford University Press, 2022), and Respecting Toleration: Traditional Liberalism and Contemporary Diversity (Oxford University Press, 2017).
