TL;DR An analysis of million dollar crowdfunding campaigns, looking at the trends in cost, particularly for the highest price “whale tier”. The analysis shows that there is drift upwards in campaign cost, but this is coming mostly from an increase in the low/mid tier price points rather than an expansion of the whale tier. The whale tier is critical to million-dollar crowdfunding campaigns, providing just under a quarter of total funding. The median whale tier costs $478. Read onward for more stats and analysis.
