Anita Boutell published four mysteries between 1938 and 1942. Aside from today’s review title, the other mysteries are: Tell Death to Wait (1939), Death Brings a Stroke (1938) and Cradled into Fear (1942). These last two have been reprinted by Coachwhip Publications. The Saturday Review of Literature described Death Has a Past as a ‘tale of surpassing suspense’ and summed it up as ‘absorbing’.
