this entry is about reddit users. what an interesting bunch they are, eh? in "fandom" circles, it's a quarrel between fake "fans" who believe they know what's best for a work of entertainment more than the people who created it, vs. true fans who just want to enjoy the work and make fanart and stuff. in "society" circles, it's 2 types of jerks on opposite sides of the same coin: one side says, "haha, AI is going to take your jobs, cry cope and seethe!" while the other side says, "there's no hope, nothing will ever get better, so why bother?" why bother? why NOT bother? i know it's easy to give into despair. sometimes, it feels as though the powers that be want us to feel powerless in the face of climate change, AI slop, pointless wars, and an atrocious work environment. but, humans are funny creatures. they always find a way to bounce back after a tragedy... or even during it. we wouldn't have education systems, weekends off, worker protections, equal rights for all, regulations,…
