the appeal of lowercase text 8 ▲ puppy network :3 47 days ago · Tech · hide · 4 comments there's something just so pleasing about lowercase text. when i'm not writing for my blog 90% of the words i type are lowercase. the letter i is one of the few i actually regularly capitalize. writing this blog without doing that feels incredibly weird. every text message i send is lowercase, every discord message is lowercase. big letters are scary, capital letters are intimidating. same goes for punctuation. when someone ends a text message with a period, i think they're mad at me. not always of course, but there's some symbols in messages that just aren't needed sometimes. uppercase letters are professional. they're what companies use when they fire you, what junk mail uses to scam you. uppercase letters are the adults of the internet, and i don't want to be that. completely uppercase text is almost always read as yelling or screaming, but lowercase isn't seen as anything except regular text with less respect for the rules of the language. none of this is to say i don't use proper… Log in to reply on the Fediverse. All lowercase posts are very hard to read for me. The uppercase letters also give a shape to the text. You can easily see at a glance where one sentence ends and the next one starts. I'm not sure if there is any point to throwing away all that niceties just to have a contrarian view. That's insane she would receive death threats for her choice. The puzzling aspect of that article is that they don't respect her choice to use lowercase letters when quoting her.
