Life slice #2: Reading science fiction and talking rockets

Inspired by NASA’s 404 page, and ESA’s 404 page too, I edited my space blog’s not found pages to show something nerdy and lunar themed: jatan.space/404/ 🕳️I watched Project Hail Mary this week, partly because of all the hype surrounding it. The movie was alright. The visuals were good but the rest was just okay. I also couldn’t switch my space and physics brain off so I kept finding flaws. I’d argue finding major scientific flaws in science fiction is fair game. I’m sure the book will fair better here. I intentionally didn’t read the book before watching the movie because I knew I’d be disappointed with the movie in such a case. Now that I’m disappointed anyway, I think I saved myself extra disappointment.I started reading the third book of the Three Body Problem series: Death’s End. I’m enjoying it so far, like the first and second one. The sheer scale of thought in the series is simply amazing.It was good to catch up with a few friends this week.I left most of the few WhatsApp…
