Rain Bombs is some kind of new term for microburst*, etc. The show does a very good job of explaining what they are. Haboobs, derechos, microbursts are all covered and are related to the same phenomenon. There was a microburst while I was at work in MA back in the 90s. Driving home I saw the aftermath and it made an impression I haven’t forgotten. A few years ago I was on my land and looked down at the field. Everything was white and I thought, “What is this?” Within seconds there was a hurricane like blast and horizontal rain. It passed just as fast and was gone. I wish I had a good video of it.
