These poems are prayers, protests, lullabies, warnings, duets, sonatas and satires. Somewhere There Is A Sky For Us is the product of a three-year project involving queer poets from India and the UK sharing their work, doing residencies and exchanges, etc. It’s an interesting spread of poems, and often plays with form (sometimes a bit difficult to read in print form, since they’ve turned it sideways on the page so you have to turn the book). It’s mostly in English, but other languages are mixed in here and there. Overall it wasn’t quite my thing — I think I’m more of a traditionalist about poetry at times, and don’t love ones that play with shapes on the page or go…
