Architecture of Almacenes San Jose – Havana, Cuba For the third and last post from this mini-series, we get a better architectural view of the interior of Almacenes San Jose. You can really tell its industrial roots from this vantage point, and the cubbies or shipping-container-like pods, which are the stores. There are many of these containers in multiple rows, though I didn’t count them. However, from the picture, you can see a sign reading’ 193,’ so there are at least that many stores, probably a lot more. Upstairs, there is a vast open area with artwork for sale. Most are derivative works that you can find anywhere, but some paintings were elevated above the norm. Blog readers, you’ll love my free monthly photography magazine.
