My favorite part of the web is the space it provides for personal expression. The individual blogs, newsletters, and quirky niches are what make it special. For the last few weeks, William and I have worked on a product we call Lately.1 It’s a private, personal space for friends, powered by WordPress.com. You send notes, links, and photos that caught your eye to a Telegram agent and, each Friday, the agent helps you polish it into a short letter to your friends. Our hope is to create a more personal space to blog. There’s no pressure to post publicly and no algorithm that stands between you and your friends. All you have to do is drop a quick note in Telegram and Lately takes care of the rest. We even made some fun, bold styles. And while the primary flow is an ongoing Telegram chat, it’s all WordPress on the backend. At any time you can drop into the Dashboard and edit content, just like you would a typical blog post.
