Sketchnotes
Back in January (I know it’s May now, I’ve been in a doing rather than documenting kind of mood for the last few months – I honestly thought I’d already made this blog post) I joined in with World Sketchnote Week. I really enjoyed getting into sketching my thoughts and ideas, noting down interesting details and generally being an active participant in the webinars. Overall the speakers were lovely, the webinars informative and the fellow community members extremely supportive. I’ve always approached sketchnotes from a graphic design and comics point of view so it was good to see the techniques others use, especially from those who use it in education. The main thing I noticed with my own notes was a lack of space around concepts, when I’m in note taking mode I tend to go for density, planning to edit things and move them around later. But it was good to force myself to use the pages as is, I stuck with pen and paper for the week. Here are a couple of sketchnote and doodle highlights…
