Early this morning I set off on a very lively and powerful 8 mile run with an emotional twist. At around the first mile I felt a wave of intense emotion, the kind that causes the throat to squeeze and eyes to feel wet, cry even. It wasn't allergies and it happened a couple more times throughout the totality of the run. I'm not a stranger to these, I still don't really know why they happen other than that time my youngest boy was in NICU for about a week after a very exciting birth.
